For more than fifty years, Honest Charley and the distinctive trademark have been synonymous with quality styling accessories and superior customer service. Founded in 1948 by Honest Charley Card in the foothills of the Great Smokey mountains in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Honest Charley's unique combination of automotive, performance and custom accessories and world wide distribution of the notably humorous Honest Charley catalogs served to establish Honest Charley Speed Shop as one of the most recognized names in the Automotive Aftermarket.

Honest Charley was one of the first advertisers featured in Hot Rod Magazine. The company was one of the first speed shops with coast to coast distrubution, and one of the first computerized automotive businesses. Honest hisself was a fixture at both Daytona and at Indy for many years. Company expansion included Honest Charley retail stores and and distribution centers throughout Tennessee, Georgia and Florida supplying jobbers and dealers throughout the southeast. In 1980 Honest Charley's Speed Distributors Warehouse was named SEMA's Warehouse Distributor of the Year.

Honest hisself was the second inductee into the SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) Hall of Fame. He was a lifetime member of USAC with member number 121 and an early member of the Indy 500 Old-timers Club. In 1990, after more than forty years of industry innovation and dedicated service, Honest Charley discontinued operations at 108 Honest Street. However, the significance of Honest's legacy of always placing the customer first and his example of embracing all enthusiasts as family and friends continued to influence both the industry and all who knew him.

In 1998 the Honest Charley name and trademarks were acquired by Chattanooga automotive enthusiast and businessman Corky Coker. Coker Tire Company has long been recognized for its extensive line of fine tires for collector vehicles. Memories of Honest Charley and Corky's enthusiasm towards all things automotive provided the inspiration to once again guarantee the enthusiast a unique product selection in conjunction with a solid commitment to customer service. In early 2001, Honest Charley ads were once again appearing in leading automotive publications including Hot Rod, Car Craft and Super Chevy magazines.

Mike Goodman, President of Honest Charley, was sales manager for Honest Charley Speed Distributors Warehouse for over seventeen years. He served on the SEMA Board of Directors for two terms. Mike Goodman Engineering, has manufactured a variety of custom products for nationally recognized companies including, Moroso, Mr. Gasket, Hedman Hedders, Transdapt, Choo Choo Customs and others.

Longtime Honest Charley associate Joe Lombardo and our sales team provide sales assistance and technical support while continuing a solid link with past tradition. Joe was integral to Honest Charley's success for over fifteen years.

Our current color catalog features products for the popular El Camino, Malibu and Monte Carlo. Honest Charley manufactures a variety of front air dams for GM, Ford and Dodge trucks and SUVs along with replacement front air dams and other exterior styling components for conversion vehicles, including trucks, vans and SUVs produced by Choo Choo Customs, Mark III and others. We also manufacture innovative styling components for the popular S-Blazer and S-10 sport trucks. Other popular products include front air dams, front bumper covers, fiberglass and steel cowl induction hoods, ground effects, roll pans and the distinctive Wildside Stepside Bed for the early S-10 trucks, along with other accessories. Most products are available for immediate shipment.

Honest Charley is located within the Coker Tire Complex in historic downtown Chattanooga. In keeping with both companies' ties to both the past and present, our Corporate and Sales offices are located in facilities listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Today, Honest Charley, Inc. continues the timeless legacy of service and trust first established by Honest Charley hisself.

Everyday at Honest Charley, we still live with the echo of the "race prepared" Straight 8 Buicks, Rileys, Jimmys and Flatheads as we continue to provide the finest in quality automotive and sport truck restyling accessories.
