Chattanooga Cruise In Spring 2013
What started as a laid back hot rodder hang out at Coker Tire and Honest Charley has grown into one of the premier cruise in events in the Southeast! We’re thrilled with the success of the event, and we plan to keep on doing them for years to come. The Spring 2013 Chattanooga Cruise In was the biggest ever, with nearly 900 cars on hand and thousands of spectators roaming the streets surrounding Honest Charley Speed Shop. Check out some of our favorite cars and trucks from the event, and be sure to mark your calendar for Thursday June 6th (after the Hot Rod Power Tour stop at Chattanooga State) and Saturday September 7th for our next Chattanooga Cruise In events!
The famous Double Exposure roadster was on display with an open door policy, so folks could hop in and have their picture taken with it! People were posting the pictures to Facebook, Twitter and all those fancy websites.
It’s easy to get attention when you have a low-slung T-Bucket with a Chevy LS engine, so Greg Abbott got lots of looks with his wild roadster.
Hot rodders traveled from near and far for a chance to hang out at the Chattanooga Cruise In. We love it when cool cars park in front of our place!
Our buddy Gerry Burger came down in his super clean ’40 Ford pickup, which has a traditionally dressed 327 small block Chevy and a set of Coker whitewall tires.
Speaking of ’40 Fords, check out this slick black convertible that joined us at the Chattanooga Cruise In. Although it gets used a lot, it’s still hard to beat a black paint job with whitewalls and red steelies.
If you like wild hot rods, it doesn’t get much wilder than this! Flames, big ol’ tires and big horsepower make for an eye catching hot rod.
Our neighbors at Honest Charley Garage had their doors open allowing folks to check out the shop. They also had a few customer cars on display, as well as the 1962 Thunderbird they built (and won) on the Car Warriors TV show!
Two-four’s, white headers and big-n-little slotted mags make this little sedan stand out. We love it!
Remember this Model T touring roadster from Hot Rod magazine a few years ago? He came down from Kentucky to join us!
The crowd was HUGE!
Chopped and channeled….just the way we like ’em!
Henry J’s are pretty rare (mainly because most of them rusted away) so it was awesome to see not one, but TWO at the Spring Chattanooga Cruise In. Both were gassers, including this flat black one!
More flat black! This Deuce five-window is a prime example of a simple, but killer hot rod!
Jonathan Foskey from Ringgold, Georgia won the large Honest Charley shop sign in our big prize giveaway!
Honest Joe Lombardo came out in his big ol’ Mercury…if you joined us you probably saw him in the Speed Shop selling shirts and other cool stuff!
Dewayne Guffey in his cool Model A pickup and Josh Kaylor with his slammed ’57 more door snagged a great parking spot at the end of the day. Talk about a great photo opp!
At the end of the cruise in, we always have a few folks who hang around and wait for the sun to go down so they can get the famous nighttime Honest Charley shot. This year, it was Jason Murrell in the slammed Caddy, Jonathan Sharpe in the killer Camaro and Kevin King in his simple and clean Buick GS.
